The Horse Protection Society of North Carolina takes in horses who are sick, hurt, or starving due to owner neglect or lack of means. Many horses are healed and find good homes. Some do not make it despite medical care and love. Why do we support the Horse Protection Society of North Carolina? 2007 has been a year of extreme drought in most of the Southern United States. Much of North Carolina has been listed as EXCEPTIONAL - the worst rating. Due to the lack of rain, hay is at a premium. The HPS needs our help to feed the horses in their care now, and to buy the hay and other sorely needed supplies to carry them through the winter months and well into 2008.
